CTO prioritises building ICT regulatory capacity in the Commonwealth

The recent meeting of the Commonwealth Action Programme for the Digital Divide (CAPDD) held last week in London identified the national regulatory capacity as the key area for capacity building within the Commonwealth.
The CTO delegation, led by its Chairman Anthony De Bono and its CEO, Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, discussed various issues including information and communications technologies programmes and projects, to be endorsed by heads of government during the forthcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in Malta in November. As the regulatory institutes in most of the Commonwelath countries are relatively young, cpacity building of such institutions have recently become imperative with rapid technological changes.
