Bangladesh Government has already acquired 232 acres of land in Kaliakoir of Gazipur district to set up an IT (Information Technology) Village.
Unveiling this plan in parliament, Prime Minister Khaleda Zia said that the move would help the government in introducing e-governance for ensuring accountability and transparency in public administration.
Information on government services will be made available through website in user-friendly manner.
Already GIS based information systems have been operational in 28 districts in primary education as well as other areas of development.
