World Summit Award contest announced in Africa

Sangonet, an African ngo has launched the South African leg of the World Summit Award (WSA) held in co-operation with United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).

It is a global initiative that aims to select and promote the world’s best e-content and creativity.

The competition is open to any company, organisation or individual in the content industry. It has eight categories: e -learning, e-culture, e-science, e-government, e-health, e-business, e-entertainment and e-inclusion.

Winners will be announced at the WSA gala on 16 November during the second phase of the WSIS in Tunis.

The closing date for the South African nominations is Tuesday, 26 July. Entry forms are available on the Sangonet Web site. For more information on WSA rules and evaluation criteria, visit www.wsa-award.org.
