Punjab University and Chandigarh Housing Board to computerise their data

In a move to make information more accessible, Punjab University (PU) and Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) are soon going to take on the Union Territory Administration’s IT Department to put all the university and Board data on their respective websites.

Students of all colleges under Panjab University will be able to access details - their registration number, results and marksheet - on computer screens.
The IT Department plans to interlink all PU departments with each other, besides linking various colleges under the university, right from the registration stage to the result stage.

Similarly, those who own Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) houses would be able to access details relating to their houses simply by going online. The IT Department plans to link all departments of the CHB.

Owners will be able to access details of how the house was constructed, the original allottee to whom it was allotted, if it was transferred then how many times, who were the previous owners and the present one, details of installments paid and pending, violations, if any, and their types, notices, etc. Moreover, all the original documents of individual CHB houses will be scanned and put online.
