Bangalore University has introduced an online examination system starting with five correspondence courses for Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR).
The examinations began in three centres, including Bangalore, Raichur and Basti in Uttar Pradesh.
175 students appeared for the examination, where they had to answer objective type questions on the computer screen. The results were ready by the end of the day. The university did not require tabulators, valuators of custodians.
University officials said from next year, web cams would be set up in the examination halls to boost the security.
With the success of the online system, the varsity proposed to extend it to other correspondence courses in the future.
