ICT Growth in Rwanda, Africa

In an attempt to tackle the problem of poverty and increase their technical knowledge base, the Rwandan government will focus on developing its Information and communications technologies (ICTs) capacities.

Ways to further ICT growth is to get companies to assemble computers locally opined the Minister for Energy and Communications, Mr. Albert Butare. This, government believes would bring the cost of computers down. Also, the government is trying to extend its fibre optic link to various provinces.

Rwanda government is also to host an ICT investment summit in Kigali, the state capital with the theme, 'Strategies for Sustainable Development for ICT Infrastructure in Africa'.
