A satellite interactive terminal, (SIT), is installed at Academic Staff College, Punjab University (PU), which establishes universitys link with the UGC-CEC.
Prof Nigavekar of PU spoke about the capacity of the new technology to improve the quality of education. He said the cost of the technology was coming down and very soon it would be available in all colleges across the country.
The UGC-CEC with the support of the ISRO will also set up a network via SIT through which 58 institutions will be linked together. The network will create a countrywide classroom and a teaching end.
