Gandhi Media literacy programme in schools of Punjab will start from this august where the students will be trained to become future ICT (Information and Communication Technology) ambassadors.
Concieved by Yuvsatta, an NGO, Dev Samaj College of Education and Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, New Delhi, the programme will also draw the participation of world agencies like Plan International and One World South Asia.
For this purpose, experts from different agencies and NGOs working for children have created a carefully designed module spread over three phases.
In the first phase, students and teachers will be identified who would be trained.
In the second phase, training to 20 selected students in techniques and methodology of preparation of a Radio Programme will be given.
Third phase will witness the setting up of a Digital Recording Studio for preparation of Radio programmes in a local school for launching a community radio centre.
Vincent Victor, advisor of community radio for One World South Asia said children would be trained in different media skills so that they can act as harbingers of change.
