Computerisation of police stations in Andhra Pradesh

Computerisation of all police stations in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh is nearing completion and the E-Cops network will start functioning in a month, ensuring effective policing.

Addressing a meeting of the circle inspectors and sub-divisional police officers, Mr. Naveen Chand, Superintendent of police said once the E-Cop network became operational, all police stations should feed the data on FIRs and CD files in computers to help in effective monitoring of cases.

Expressing concern over the increased involvement of road accidents, mainly due to overloading and high speed, Mr. Naveen Chand asked Circle Inspectors and SDPOs to take stern action against erring drivers.

He also asked police officers to ensure screening of the tele film on the road safety picturised recently, at all places utilising the cable TV network to create awareness among road users.
