Abstract
CNRI has been the home to the D-Lib Magazine since its inception in 1995. However, the MagazineÂ’s evolution can be traced directly to efforts in the early 1990s, when CNRI executed the Computer Science Technical Reports (CSTR) project supported by DARPA leading to the multi-agency Digital Libraries Initiative (DLI). The Magazine has accommodated broad and varied range of topics on digital libraries. Articles have been tagged with Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and the technology is based on the CNRI Handle System.

Descriptors: internet, world wide web, digital library, Digital Library Initiative, DARPA
