Abstract
The present issue of the Bulletin of the American Society for Information Science and Technology attempts to explore “social informatics” in principle and practice. The School of Informatics at the University at Buffalo since its first efforts at creating a mission for the school in 2001 has grappled with the definition of social informatics issue. Social informatics largely focuses on the social aspects of information, introspecting primarily at the intersections of people, information and technology.
