Latin-American young people have had a new web space called the Portal de juventud para America Latina y el Caribe which went online on International Youth Day on 12 August, supported from CELAJU and UNESCO.
"This action is the result of joint efforts that has filled a great emptiness by providing a space for meeting, exchange, debate and construction of regional agendas to gather greater support and generate new efforts for youths", says UNESCO's Isidro Fernandez-Aballi.
The Portal is the product of joint efforts by youth networks, both governmental or non-governmental, operating at the local, national or international levels.
The initiative is presently supported by the InfoYouth Network, the Latin-American and Caribbean Alliance of ACJs/YMCAs, and the Latin-American Rural Youth Network (RELAJUR).
A series of virtual activities will be realised by organisations that promote the portal within the launching framework.
