The United States-based Globus Inc, run by Suhas Gopinath, a 19-year-old entrepreneur from Bangalore has developed the `student management systemÂ’.
The system will inform you through Short Message Service or e-mail whether your daughter/son has turned up for classes. Interacting with mediapersons after speaking at the `Meet the CEO programme' organised by the Training and Placement Cell and Student's Guild of Service (SGS) of the Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, the world's youngest CEO, Mr. Suhas, said that the software was installed in 100 schools in Nigeria and another 100 in the European countries.
The software would carry a student's score and rank, comparison of it with his classmates and appraisals by the teacher. The report would portray capabilities of the student, his/her behaviour in the class and interaction with friends. Parents can look at the virtual mark sheet on the website itself.
At present, the company was negotiating with the Ministry of Human Resource Development to introduce it in all the 870 Kendriya Vidyalaya schools across the country and in Mascow and Dubai.
"We have developed a module based on the requirements of Kendriya Vidyalaya and they are evaluating it. Once they are satisfied, we will install the software in a phased manner, said Mr. Suhas.
After installing the software at Government schools, the company plans to sell it to private schools.
