NEPAD to facilitate e-Schools

Rwanda is one of the sixteen African countries to benefit from the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD) first phase of Electronic Schools' (e-Schools) program before the initiative spreads to other African countries.

The project, which was signed on Friday 26 between the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Research Prof. Romain Murenzi and Mathew Chetty of the NEPAD's e-Africa Commission, was also witnessed by Bill Sounders, a representative of CISCO and Microsoft.

The E-schools pilot project scheduled to begin next month is to be conducted in six secondary schools which include Groupe Scolaire de Muhura (Byumba), College Saint Andre (Kigali City) and Groupe Scolaire de Shyangi (Cyangugu).
