Teleconference facility through EDUSAT in districts of Tamil Nadu

Teleconference facility through EDUSAT will be provided at the District Institute of Educational Training at Oddanchatram , Tamil Nadu before month-end. Similar facility will also be provided in all 16 Basic Resource Centres (BRC) functioning under Sarva Sikshya Abyan Scheme in Dinidgul district in a phased manner, said Rama. Pandurangan, Chief Educational Officer.

Taking part in an interaction session between resource persons in Anna University and school teachers and BRC coordinators through EDUSAT held at P.S.N.A. College of Engineering and Technology, he said that resource persons through teleconference had guided teachers on how to undertake action research to find out various problems of students and teachers and between schools and the society. Such facility would also help students get better education through e-learning.

Joint Director of the SSA R, Ilangovan said that more that 13,500 teachers in the State had undertaken action research last year. Of this, 10,000 had completed their research.

Provisions were made through landline and mobile phones to enable teachers in Dindigul to interact with resources persons in Chennai. About 40 teachers and coordinators took part.
