Young Ugandans start ICT project supported by UNESCO

UNESCO has extended its financial support to a project aiming towards leadership developnent among young women in Uganda. Supported within its Information for All Programme framework, UNESCO aims to foster "principles and practices of alternative leadership and to build their confidence in the use of ICT."

Forum for Women and Democracy (FOWODE) in Uganda, the implementing agency of the project , works with 30 young women aged 18 – 20 from all parts of the country. With UNESCO’s funds, FOWODE hopes to computerise and update their library in order to expose the young women to issues of social justice and social transformation through the use of Information Communication Technology.
