UNESCO will support the organisation of the second World Electronic Media Forum that will be held in Tunis from 15 to 16 November 2005, in connection with the second phase of World Summit on the Information Society.
World Electronic Media Forum II will discuss the role of the electronic media in the digital age – for example in achieving the Millennium Development Goals, in guaranteeing cultural diversity, or in preserving audiovisual archives. Broadcasters, academics and decisionmakers from around the globe will discuss these and other issues before submitting their conclusions to the World Summit on the Information Society. The first World Electronic Media Forum held in December 2003 at the first WSIS phase affirmed the vital importance of radio and television in the information society. Source:UNESCO |
