Data on pattadar passbooks in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh will be computerised by November 15, said Collector, G. Asok Kumar.
Addressing the District Consultative Committee meeting of bankers, he exhorted bankers to liberally disburse crop loans to farmers besides loans for farm mechanisation.
Crop loan disbursement by Andhra Bank and Canara Bank was poor, he said. Bankers would not be paid service charges for issuing no dues certificates in Government sponsored schemes, he asserted.
When bankers raised apprehensions about bogus pattadar passbooks, the Collector said computerised data of all pattadar passbooks would be provided to them after November 15. Promising action against persons producing bogus pattadar passbooks, he recalled the suspension of a panchayat secretary in Vempalle mandal.
When bankers lamented improper recovery of loans from weavers, the Assistant Director of Handlooms Ramachandraiah promised action if specific cases were referred to him.
The Collector asked bankers to help in documentation of RYS and PMRY loans to expedite their disbursement. Bankers should grant crop loans to sugarcane farmers, as the sugar factory at Chennur would become functional in a few months.
