The Roundtable “Innovation and investment: scaling science and technology to meet the Millennium Development Goals” was organised by the United Nations Millennium Project and the United Nations Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Task Force, in association with the United Nations Fund for International Partnerships (UNFIP). It was held on the eve of the 2005 Millennium Summit and hosted by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations.
This roundtable was intended to launch a new phase of effort, building upon the work of the Millennium Project's Task Force on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). The broad aim was to marshal multi-stakeholder contributions in STI and ICT for Development and to provide a platform for global partnerships to facilitate progress on the United Nations Developmetn Agenda.
