Online visa service soon in the UAE

The Department of Naturalisation and Residence in Abu Dhabi will soon launch a new service whereby members of the public can apply for visas online.

Lieutenant-Colonel Saeed Al Suwaidi, Director of the Department, told that necessary measures to have the electronic service in place were being worked out by the Abu Dhabi Police General Directorate, which, he said, would save time and money.

Members of the public will soon be able to apply for visas via Internet directly from their homes or typing offices. Applications will then be verified and processed online prior to issue of visas upon payment of fees electronically.

He said the new service was in line with the directives of Lt-Gen. Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, to introduce modern technology to facilitate smooth processing for both the ministry's staff and customers.
