Investors and tourists can now gain information on Kenya using new technology.
The e-card (in the form of a compact disc), which contains information on all sectors, was launched recentlyl in Nairobi.
Public Communications Secretary Alfred Mutua said the Government had invested heavily in communication in the last two years to empower the people and spur development.
Dr Mutua noted that the e-card technology was the first successful public-private partnership aimed at creating a conducive investment environment by providing essential information about the country.
The e-card takes the shape of the map of Kenya and contains information on all sectors complete with images. It also has a business directory with a searchable database.
It would be distributed to embassies, international hotels and airports, Dr Mutua said, and the distribution network would include trade fairs, international conferences and educational institutions.
"The information will be updated every four months, in collaboration between the Government's Communication office and other stakeholders. One of its biggest strengths is that it is able to operate off-line and on-line.
