Crime and traffic come under scan in Madhya Pradesh

To control crime, Madhya Pradesh Council for Science and Technology (MAPCOST) will develop a scientific system using satellite technology for the Madhya Pradesh Police. The system would also be helpful in managing traffic.

Director-General of MAPCOST, Dr Janardan G Negi, said that along with technological prowess, the MAPCOST had sufficient resources to prepare such kind of database.

The system would not only save money but would tremendously help police to keep track of criminal activities. In the first phase, the project work would be initiated by observing the crime scene and traffic conditions in the city.

The system would also provide information on Naxalite activities and infiltration in the cities. He further said that MAPCOST is also preparing a system to optimally utilise the resources available in Madhya Pradesh.

The database of the project would be developed with the help of data provided by MP Police.
