Play by Parivarthana in aid of Ananya Trust

Parivarthana, a Kannada Theatre Troupe is presenting “*Ilihothina Dahagalu, *(The Thirst During Twilight)”, an adaptation of Arthur Miller’s *Death of a Salesman, *in aid of Ananya Trust on 18^th December 2005 at 6.30 p.m. at Tarala Balu Kendra in R.T. Nagar, Bangalore.

ANANYA is a charitable trust started concerned with the dearth of schools that provide relevant and meaningful education for the underprivileged children. Through Ananya Shikshana Kendra (ASK), it caters to the needs of children who are not admitted in other schools either for social, physical or academic reasons.

*Ilihothina Dahagalu *is set in a typical South Indian family. This adaptation attempts to recreate the contemporary socio-economic milieu of India in an expressionistic, multi-media presentation which strips the characters of all their trappings. Miller’s play has a special resonance in the context of globalization in India today which is uprooting the identities of a large number of people. Sri S.R.Ramesh is the director of the play that has been adapted by Sri. K.P Vasudevan, a
well known Kannada literary critic who has also successfully adapted Chekov’s Uncle Vanya (‘Maagiya Hoovgalu’) and Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors (‘Junagadada Jugalbandhi’) which have won critical acclaim.
