Cable TV body to challenge HC ruling in India

The All India Cable Operators Association plans to move the Bombay high court challenging the same court's order banning telecast of films rated 'A' and 'UA' on television channels.

Roop Sharma, president of the association, told TOI that the Film Producers Guild too will join them in contesting the verdict.

"We have already sought the advice of a lot of legal experts and our people in Mumbai too have been speaking to lawyers and within a day or two will be moving the Bombay high court to challenge the ruling," she said.

Film producers including Mahesh Bhatt, Prakash Jha, Sudhir Mishra, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ashok Pandit and Shashi Ranjan have come together to discuss a plan to seek a stay against the ruling.
