India: All 32,000 villages to be profiled for development in the state of Jharkhand
Chief Minister Arjun Munda has directed the IT department to prepare a profile of all the 32,000 villages in Jharkhand so that a close watch can be kept on their development.
"We need data on every village so that development programmes can be planned accordingly," Munda told.
The profile will include information on the condition of roads, electricity, health, land, population, employment, communication systems and agriculture.
"I have directed IT officials to prepare the profile of the villages. The profile will help us understand the needs of the villages, what kind of development a particular village needs and what kind of programmes have been made for a village," Munda said.
