As the controversy over the demolition of illegal structures in Delhi continues, the Union science and technology ministry has come up with a hi-tech solution satellite imagery to ensure that unauthorised constructions do not take place in future.
Cameras with very high resolution will be installed in Chandni Chowk in the Walled City.
The project, involving use of satellite imagery, is being undertaken in association with a Russian company. The project will be subsequently extended across the Capital. It is expected to be fully in place in six months. This process may involve the countrys own satellite in after the launch of Cartosat.
