According to the current Innovations Minister Stanca, ICT developments and innovation are a top priority for both standing and future governments. Stanca addressed his views during the OECD conference on ICT in Rome. Stanca highlighted aims to engender further sector synergies and to define prospective applications, with an emphasis on broadband technology, which has the potential to "connect millions of people, faster, to a broad range of contents and formats”. The Minister spoke of e-commerce as a priority.
