UNESCO training course on Digital Libraries in Education

Seventeen nominees from Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Lao, Nepal, Philippines, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Viet Nam will be trained on how to use the Greenstone Digital Library open source software by the two New Zealanders who wrote it: David Bainbridge and Dave Nichols.

Greenstone is particularly suitable for organizations like academic networks and open universities who need to create digital libraries of training materials to distribute to faculty and students. Training in Bangkok will be supplemented by distance learning after which each trainee will present his/her own collection of educational materials online.
