A paper which will be presented to Cabinet next week will draw up a plan to hold a programme of training for people who left secondary school without school leaving certificates, who will be trained as ICT technicians for industry.
IT Minister Austin Gatt announced this in Parliament last night as he replied to a number of questions.
The minister insisted the Maltese must have confidence and trust in the future as there are a large number of opportunities waiting for them, only if they accept to change the mentalities and work practices of old.
The minister referred to Enemalta where, he said, there are a number of work practices which date back many years, such as shift systems going back 20 years.
