New report on poverty, human development in Morocco
Some 4,2 million Moroccans, which constitute 14.2% of the population, were poor in 2004, said the report on Poverty, Human Development and Social Development in Morocco, submitted this week by the High Commissioner for Planning, Ahmed Lahlimi.
The report, comprising a hard copy and a CD-ROM, aims at giving a statistic and cartographic representation of the social condition in all rural and urban areas of the kingdom, and define the needs of each region in terms of infrastructure, and social, and economic development.
The database will be available for researchers, public administration officials, actors in the fields of economy, and the civil society, Lahlimi told the press.
