Indias VSNL has selected Aperto Networks, developer of advanced WiMAX base stations, for the rollout of the carriers multi-service broadband wireless systems in over 65 cities across the country.
In a statement, VSNL said this is part of an initial deployment phase with the goal of growing the network to cover over 200 cities within twelve months.
The carrier will be using Aperto's PacketWAVE family of base stations and subscriber units in the deployment, the firm said.
