Under the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP) , the Government has almost doubled its allocation for the information, communications and technology (ICT) sector to RM13 billion from RM7.8 billion previously.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jamaludin Jarjis said the money will be used to boost ICT capacity in government agencies and bridge the digital divide between urban and rural agencies.
"To bridge the divide, the Government will spend RM3.7 billion compared with RM2.4 billion previously.
