Afghan President Hamid Karzai invited the Indian IT companies to sep up joint ventures in Afghanistan on Tuesday.
Mr Karzai, who is accompanied by an 85-member delegation, arrived here on Tuesday on a two-day visit. After visiting the HITEC City - the hub of IT companies in Hyderabad - and attending a presentation by various authorities, the Afghan President hoped that more Afghan youth would come to India to pursue higher education in the sectors of information technology, engineering and health.
Mr Karzai's programme in Hyderabad is packed with visits to the scientific research organisations and academic institutions. Apart from the HITEC City, he also visited the Tata Consultancy campus, National Remote Sensing Agency and had an interaction with prominent people at the Raj Bhavan. On Tuesday he will visit the National Institute of Rural Development and Osmania University.
In a brief chat with the media after visiting HITEC City, Mr Karzai said the purpose of his visit to Hyderabad was to see and learn from the achievements of the city. "We wanted to learn what you have achieved and how we can benefit from these achievements," he said.
