The Delhi Fire department is going to launch a computerised command and control system that will not only help in reducing response time when a call is received by it but will also help in bringing more efficiency in its work.
The system will replace the manual work and will enable its fire officials in reaching to the spots at the earliest. "What happens now is that when any call is received, the operator has to take a decision and inform it to the concerned fire station. But after the launch of this system, the scene would be totally changed.
For instance, if fire is of medium type, it will show four tenders. All this information will be sent to the concerned fire station, where fire officials will take its print out and act accordingly.
The arrangement for alarm will also be made that will ring when the other fire stations will get the print," Chief Fire officer RC Sharma said.
Through this system, the department is expecting that it do not have to bear the anger of the people in case when they reach bit late due to unavoidable reasons
