Digital meters may be a reality soon

The state government has issued a preliminary notification making it mandatory for all autorickshaws plying within Huda limits to have digital meters installed in them.

Once the rule comes in place in about a month from now, all new autos need to have digital meters, while the existing 70,000-odd ones will be given a maximum of a yearÂ’s time to get new meters.

The preliminary notification, signed by the principal secretary of transport, A K Tigidi, was issued on April 17. "Representatives of auto unions met me and apprised me of their views on the issue.
