A UNDP economic adviser - based in Gambia - says that information technology is central to the success of the Millennium Development Goals.
Dr Boyer was speaking recently at at a symposium on the theme: "Millennium Development Goals: Creating Opportunities and Building Partnerships for the New Millennium.” The symposium was organised by the Polytechnic Society, a charitable organisation based in Norway.
He said: “By the Millennium Development Goals, we mean genuine human partnership for development. We must approach development holistically towards achieving a more positive human development .We make the world a global village but everyone must participate in the process; the West has to see the Third World countries as partners in the development process rather than considering them as a dumping ground,” he said.
