Manish Kumar
|
Manish Kumar is currently working with OneWorld South Asia as the Programme Manager-Knowledge for Development (ICT). His responsibilities include managing and promoting Digital Opportunity Channel as a global ICT knowledge portal besides publishing OWSA's flagship bi-monthly print publication Mainstreaming ICTs (information and Communication Technologies). The publication is focused on MDGs and ICTs in South Asia. He has also contributed to OWSAs various ICT field projects.
Before joining OWSA, Mr. Kumar worked with i4d (www.i4donline.net), an ICT for development initiative of a U.P., India based NGO Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies (www.csdms.in) as Senior Research Associate. He has also worked in a World Bank assisted Innovation Dissemination project, Team of Excellence in Agricultural Information and Communication as a Senior Research Fellow.
He has organised and participated in several national and international conferences, workshops and seminars and is a member of few professional societies. He has published research articles in national and international journals in the area of development communication, rural development, agriculture, and participatory research. He is also on the review board of international ICT journals.
Mr. Kumar is a graduate in Agriculture. He completed his MSc in Development Communication as the Junior Research Fellow of Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Later he finished his second MSc degree in the Management of Agricultural Knowledge Systems programme of the Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Currently, Manish Kumar is pursuing his PhD (part-time) in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
