WHO urges the right kind of medical donations to Indonesia

WHO is working with the Indonesian authorities to provide medical care, acquire medicines and equipment, and set up a disease surveillance system following the major earthquake that hit Java on Saturday. WHO is also compiling a list of necessary medicines, supplies and equipment, and emphasizing that to be most helpful, only the right kinds of medical donations – those included in the list – should be sent to the affected area.

The emergency continues in Indonesia, as World Health Organization (WHO) works with authorities to provide medical care to survivors, to acquire the right kinds of medicines and equipment, and to set up a disease surveillance system in the areas hit by Saturday's earthquake.
