New media toolkit on trade negotiations

While the Doha talks on a new global trade deal in the World Trade Organization (WTO) have sparked tensions between governments, the real impact will ultimately be on the lives of ordinary people. But how much does the public know about the international trade agreements governments are negotiating on their behalf, and can they have any say in the decisions?

A new Panos media brief on trade explores how journalists can draw attention to the issues, exploit public interest, and raise debate on whether trade deals will benefit or damage people’s lives.

The brief can be downloaded here.
