Unesco to support Akshaya e-project

The Unesco has expressed willingness to support Akshaya, the State's IT dissemination project, in the field of women empowerment. A communication to this effect has been received, a spokesman for the Akshaya project said here. As per the proposal made, Unesco will undertake content development activities that will enable social and cultural empowerment of women. Content related to legal guidance, career guidance, government schemes, health, motherhood and child would be developed through selected Akshaya centres. Research and training also would form part of this programme. In the second phase, income generation activities through women groups under the Akshaya centres are envisaged.
