The digital divide has a female face. This is very true as evident from women's underrepresentation and lack of willingness in the sphere of information and communication technologies (ICTs). But the point, raised at the Tunis World Summit on the Information Society that ICTs are only helping to perpetuate existing gender-based inequalities, is also a fact from the users point of view. And this is as well true in the case of women entrepreneurs who are said to be economically empowered.
In most cases, educated women who have access to ICT are not only less interested in its use, also women with economically sound footings are found hardly paying any attention to using the ICTs including developing their own website.
