November 20, 2006: The Stop-Atrocity IT Unit, Pune has come forward with an idea of establishing a Helpline for all Atrocity cases. (It is a fact that Priyanka, who had been last month gangraped and killed in a racist attack in the western state of Maharashtra, had a mobile through which she had called up the police. The police did not respond.)
In today's high tech world, faster communication between people who are suffering and those who maintain law, can safeguard the basic rights given by Constitution. It can also help in tracing public offices, in publishing reports and in providing legal assistance to the needy!
