CSE training on Information management

Managing information today requires special skills and calls for investments in strengthening the information infrastructure and skills of the organisation. Here is an opportunity for you to participate in a specially-designed short training programme on 'Information management in the digital age (August 21-24, 2007). The training is brought to you by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi.

This unique course is broad in scope, and covers a gamut of information types, management strategies, tools, and dissemination strategies. It teaches participants how to manage all aspects and types of information at an institutional level and how to disseminate them effectively using the web.

Workshops are led by CSE's professional staff of librarians, webmasters and members of various outreach units. Workshops will give hands on experience harnessing the most effective digital tools to help disseminate your organisation's work.

The training is being conducted by CSE's Environment Resource Unit (ERU), which manages South Asia's premier library, research and documentation centre and by CSE's web unit which manages CSE's online presence. These units have helped propel CSE's high-profile research, advocacy and dissemination activities for more than two decades.

They have kept pace with the latest documentation and information management tools available to professionally manage more than 70,000 books, 150,000 journal articles, more than 220,000 news clippings, thousands of unpublished papers, 125,000 photos, more than 800 films, CDs, contact addresses, and other information resources.
