National conference on e-Governance

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DAR&PG), Ministry of Personnel, PG and Pensions, Government of India, organises the National Conference on e-Governance every year in collaboration with Department of Information Technology, GoI, and one of the state governments.
The XI National Conference on e-Governance would be organised on February 7-8, 2008 at Chandigarh/Panchkula and the Government of Haryana would be the host state. The present theme for the conference is "Integrated Citizen Services – Issues & Challenges". The main features of this conference would be the National Awards for e-Governance for 2007-08 that recognizes achievements and initiatives in the area of e-Governance. The conference will also have an exhibition showcasing latest trends in IT. The national conferences provide a platform to senior officers of the government, including IT secretaries of state governments, IT managers of the central government, ministries/departments and resource persons, experts, intellectuals from industry and academic institutions, etc. to discuss and exchange views and experiences relating to various e-Governance initiatives.
