It is the goal of the Tech Awards to showcase their compelling stories and reward their brilliant accomplishments.
The Tech Museum Awards honour innovators from around the world who use technology to benefit humanity in the categories of environment, economic development, education, health, and equality.
The Award categories are based on the 15 Global Challenges identified in the State of the Future report, published by the Millennium Project of the American Council of the United Nations University.
Twenty-five laureates will be honoured at a Gala event on November 12, 2008 and five laureates will share a cash prize of US$ 250,000.
Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged. Individuals, non-profit organisations, and for-profit companies are eligible to apply.
The deadline for nominations is Nomination deadline March 24, 2008.
