Paris: The French government has launched a new Career record service to allow users trace their pension contributions online throughout their working career, including for periods of time spent abroad.
The new facility, made available by the French National Pension Fund (Caisse nationale dassurance vieillesse - CNAV), is an online source of information for persons wishing to track their pension contributions, reports ePractice.
For each contributor, the new service indicates the periods during which they were paying into either the national pensions fund or other basic funds, as well as periods logged under third-country systems.
Providing a safe and secure environment, the online career record is strictly private and accessible only to the individuals concerned who are having their PIN code. The PIN code could be obtained through a simple online application form.
The record accessed from the new service indicates the employees complete career history, with the periods of employment taken into account for the calculation of their pension.
With the online career record service, contributors would be able to identify periods during which contributions were not registered and, where necessary, to introduce amendments to their personal records, from the age of 54 onwards only.
