Data driven learning for classrooms

Data-Driven School Improvement Publisher: Teachers College Press to publish Editors: Ellen B. Mandinach and Margaret Honey, Data-Driven School Improvement is part of the Teacher College Press Technology, Education— Connections (TEC) Series. Developed in association with the Center for Children and Technology (CCT), Education Development Center (EDC), Inc., New York, the book delves into current thinking, framework for using data to support teaching and learning. Education Development Center is a global non-profit organisation that designs, develops, delivers, and evaluates innovative programs to solve some of the world’s most urgent challenges in education, health, and economic development. The Center for Children and Technology investigates ways that technology can make a difference in children's classrooms, schools, and communities through a number of basic, applied, formative, and summative research projects. In the fall of 2005, CCT held a conference on "Improving Achievement through Linking Data and Learning". The conference brought together leading researchers, policymakers, and educators to discuss how to make meaningful use of data to improve student learning and make informed decisions — a critical issue for those attempting to improve academic achievement. This publication grows out of this conference, specifically the ideas, examples and papers presented over the three-day meeting. The book includes chapters by EDC's Cornelia Brunner, Naomi Hupert, and Daniel Light.
