09.09.2003 The Cybermohalla (Cyber Neighbourhood) Project – a joint initiative of Sarai and Ankur in India – has released its latest publication: A “book box” with ten booklets, a CD and postcards. Cybermohalla is a community of young people, who share each other’s thoughts, ideas and creative energies in media labs located in working class areas of the Indian capital, Delhi. It addresses the interface between information technology and creativity in these people’s lives. The booklets (in PDF format) are available in Hindi and English.

15.07.2003 Open Source practitioners from Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America recently got together to produce a manifesto on the role of Open Source Software (OSS) in the development cooperation context. Asking all stakeholders to pay more attention to OSS, they argue that it has a special importance when viewed, used and produced in the context of development cooperation and should be employed wherever possible.
