Intian New Delhissä järjestettiin hiljattain foorumi reilusta kaupasta. Keskustelun aiheena oli, kuinka reilun kaupan periaatteet voitaisiin ottaa markkinoilla huomioon laajemminkin. Foorumissa todettiin, että sen onnistumiseksi reilun kaupan periaatteet pitäisi sisällyttää koulujen opetussuunnitelmiin.

Kolme vuotta sitten Maailman valuuttarahasto IMF lainasi yli 75 miljardia euroa useille maille erilaisten ongelmien kuten ulkomaille suuntautuvien maksujen hoitamiseen. Tämä summa on nyt kutistunut alle 15 miljardiin euroon vuodessa. Itse asiassa, sen sijaan, että IMF olisi pääasiasssa lainojen myöntäjä, siitä on tullut rahavirtojen vastaanottaja, joka saa yli 15 miljardia euroa vuodessa takaisinmaksuina aikaisemmin myöntämistään veloista, suuressa määrin kehitysmaista.
