OneWorld South Asia has signed a MoU with Government of Rajasthan in western India to set up its LifeLines Education Services – a phone based information service for rural teachers in the state. The project, jointly monitored by Rajasthan Education Initiative and UNICEF, will provide support to teaching and learning exercises in villages.

Jointly organised by ILO and Ministry of Labour in India, a two-day high-level consultation began today in New Delhi to discuss a national employment strategy. The country needs to achieve 3.9% employment growth per annum to meet the target of employment for all by 2012.
